Hole
#1: Par 5 481,
465, 402 yards
|
A nice
par 5 to begin the white nine. A slight dogleg to the
right. Very short in par 5 standards. Best shot is to
aim down the right and hit a soft draw back to the fairway.
Green is average in length. A good chance to start the
white nine off with a birdie. |
Hole #2: Par 4 395,
375, 345 yards
|
Usually
plays downwind. #2 is a slight dogleg back to the right,
but avoid the trees on the right hand side of the fairway.
Green is large. |
Hole #3: Par 4 366,
345, 324 yards
|
Although
the yardage is short, this hole plays long back into the
south wind. Trees guard the fairway from an errant shot.
The green is also deep with a difficult up-and-down from
the front. Par is a good score. |
Hole #4: Par 4 326,
297, 283 yards
|
A short
par 4 with the long hitters typically trying to reach
the green. Be careful. An errant drive will wind up in
the trees making par a difficult score. Smart play is
to hit a mid-iron down the fairway with a short iron to
the green. |
Hole #5: Par 3 210,
180, 125 yards
|
The
start of the "Triangle". A long par 3 guarded by water
on the front, trees to the left. Ample room around the
green allows for a variety of short shots. |
Hole #6: Par 4 362,
336, 310 yards
|
Signature
hole for the white nine. A short par 4, but visually very
intimidating. Mountain Creek Lake hugs the entire right
side towards the green. A pond to the left collects errant
left shots. Tee-shot is the key. For the brave at heart,
hit a driver. For the conservative player, hit a mid-iron
followed with another one. Typically, this fairway is
wet with little roll. Second shot is up the hill to a
very large green. Once again, pay attention to where the
pin is. Par is a very good score on this hole. |
Hole #7: Par 4 372,
342, 302 yards
|
A good
traditional par 4 with a wide fairway. Ponds guard errant
shots to the right and to the left. Second shot is back
towards the south wind to a slightly elevated green. |
Hole #8: Par 3 200,
180, 125 yards
|
Another
tough par 3. More visually difficult than reality. Water
guards the front. Bail out area is the left. A large green
welcomes well-placed shots. |
Hole #9: Par 4 302,
282, 262 yards
|
A short
finishing par 4. Players tee off towards the green to
a gentle slopping fairway that slightly doglegs back to
the left. Longer hitters try to reach the green. Once
again, trees guard the fairway from errant shots. This
green severly slopes from front to back. Avoid being
above the hole. The speed is treacherous. |
